Google makes it easier to remove personal information from search results
Google has announced some changes to Search that will make it easier to remove unwanted personal information from the internet.
By clicking on the three dots next to a search result, you can get an interface to request its removal. There are three options available:
1. "This contains my personal information" — allows you to request the removal of data such as phone number, email, home address, credit card numbers, account information, etc. Google will review the request and possibly remove the result.
2. "I have a legal removal request" - used if the content violates Google's product policies.
3. "This information is outdated and I want to update it" - if the page has been updated, but the old version is still displayed in the search results, you can submit a request to update the result.
Additionally, the "Results About You" feature has also been updated. It automatically searches Google for data like phone numbers or addresses and provides tools to remove them.
Unfortunately, Google does not say when the feature will be available to all users. You can check its availability yourself in your Google account settings.
