Gemini learned how to create illustrated books for children

- 6 August, 01:30 PM

Google is adding a new feature to Gemini, Storybook, that will allow users to create personalized, illustrated books with stories and audio. Users will simply describe any story, after which they will receive a unique 10-page book.

In addition to full-fledged illustration generation, users will also be able to add their own photos and files as inspiration for Gemini. Illustrations can be generated in any style: from pixel art and comics to clay animation or coloring pages.

The result can be shared or saved as a PDF for printing or sharing. Storybook supports over 45 languages, including Ukrainian, and is available in the Gemini chatbot in the browser and in the mobile app.

Google gives some examples of what kind of stories you can create:

  • Help your child understand a complex topic: Create a storybook that explains the Solar System to my 5-year-old.
  • Teach through storytelling: Teach a 7-year-old boy the importance of being kind to his little brother. My son loves elephants, so let's make the main character an elephant.
  • Bring personal drawings to life: Upload an image of a child's drawing and edit this sample request for your case: "This is my child's drawing. He is 7 years old. Write an interesting personalized book that will bring his drawing to life."
  • Turn memories into magical stories: Upload photos from your family trip to Paris and create a personalized adventure.
