Google releases Gemini update for Wear OS watches

- 24 July, 06:05 PM

Google is starting to roll out Gemini updates to Wear OS smartwatches starting with version 4, after the chatbot debuted on the Galaxy Watch8 earlier this month.

According to 9to5Google, owners of watches with a supported operating system will be able to find the Google Gemini on Wear OS update in the Play Store under the app management section. It will be available for watches from various manufacturers, including OnePlus, Xiaomi, and others.

After installing the necessary update, users will be able to call the chatbot with the phrase "Hey Google!", a long press on the side buttons, through the application icon or other methods. You can communicate with Gemini in the same way as in voice mode on a smartphone.

The chatbot will have access to Gemini extensions such as Google Search, Messages, Maps, YouTube Music, and more. It will also be able to answer a variety of questions about the weather, recipes, places, or other topics, set reminders, add events to your calendar, send messages, play music, and more.
