Google has officially confirmed that the stable version of Android 16 will be available in June 2025. This was announced by Allen Huang, director of product management for Pixel and Android system interface, during a briefing before The Android Show, writes Android Authority.
He said the updated Material 3 Expressive design will arrive later this year, initially on Pixel devices. The change won't be included in the public release of Android 16 in June.
Although the exact release date of the operating system has not been announced, unofficial information about the launch on June 3 has previously appeared. Google is expected to announce more details during the I/O conference, which starts on May 20.
After the release of Android 16 for Pixel, other manufacturers will gradually begin to announce their updates. In particular, Samsung is preparing a beta version of One UI 8 based on Android 16.
