Google is starting to test artificial intelligence-powered news summaries in the Discover feed on iOS and Android. The company is also moving the "Save" button for user convenience, 9to5Google reports.
Currently, most users see only the publication name, main image, and headline in the Google Discover feed. In a beta version the company is currently testing, the company will introduce an AI-generated summary of the story, which will be based on multiple sources.
Although this approach may be more convenient for users, who can immediately learn more about a topic that interests them, such changes may harm the publications themselves, who will thus lose traffic.
Additionally, one improvement that will definitely benefit everyone is the relocation of the "Save" button that allows you to add a news item to your reading list. Instead of going to an additional menu, the save button will now appear on the main page.
