Google Gemini gets new video generator

After four months of closed testing, Google is adding the Veo 2 video generative model to the Gemini chatbot for Advanced subscribers. The model is capable of creating videos up to eight seconds long at 720p resolution.

Videos created with the Veo 2 can be instantly uploaded to TikTok or YouTube thanks to the built-in sharing feature. Currently, the model only supports 16:9 aspect ratio, and videos are automatically converted to MP4 format when saved.

Compared to the previous iteration of the model, Google claims that Veo 2 has a better understanding of real-world physics and human movements. Once the Veo 2 rollout is complete, video generation will be available in all languages.

Gemini Advanced is available to subscribers of the Google One AI Premium plan, which costs 909 hryvnias per month.

Veo 2 can also be used through the Google Labs Whisk app, but it is not yet available in Ukraine.
