Green Lantern and Superman voice actors confirm Injustice 3 development
Injustice voice actors Phil LaMarr and George Newbern, who voiced the characters Green Lantern and Superman, respectively, have announced that a third installment of the game franchise is in active development. This was revealed in their comments during fan meetings in August 2025, NotebookCheck reports.
On August 23, at FanExpo in Toronto, user Brendan Borrow posted a photo of Newburn in X, claiming that the actor was involved in the development of Injustice 3. According to the fan, Newburn told him during the conversation that he was currently working on a new part of the game. Brendan Borrow later deleted his post about the actor's words, likely because the game's developers or the actor himself asked him to do so.
On August 29, another user, DannySoul0, spoke on X about his meeting with LaMarr, during which he signed a copy of Injustice 2. In the conversation, the actor confirmed: "You know they're making another one - Injustice 3."
While there is no video evidence to support these claims, they do align with NetherRealm Studios' cyclical development schedule: the studio has said it will no longer be releasing major updates to Mortal Kombat 1 after its release in 2023. This could indicate a move to a new project.
Additionally, DC Studios head James Gunn said he is looking forward to "one special" project from NetherRealm, which is currently in the early stages of development.
