Sony to release new God of War game about Greece in 2025 – Jeff Grubb
Insider Jeff Grubb told Bluesky that Sony will release a new God of War game in 2025, set in ancient Greece. He also noted that it will not be a remaster of one of the previous games, but an entirely new story about a young Kratos.
The insider recommends that gamers “lower their expectations.” The new project is likely aimed at sustaining interest in the franchise and will be more similar in scale to The Last of Us: Left Behind or Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Recall that this month the franchise celebrates its 20th anniversary, on the occasion of which the developers added new Dark Odyssey skins to God of War Ragnarok, which recreate the visual style of God of War 2 for PlayStation 2. In addition, Amazon is working on a film adaptation of the saga, and the showrunner admitted that he has never played any of the games in the series.
