Google has introduced a feature for Gmail that lets you add an event to your Google Calendar directly from an email. The company will use Gemini to automatically analyze the content of the email and add an “Add to calendar” button when relevant.

By clicking "Add to calendar," users will be taken to a sidebar in Gmail to confirm that the event has been added to their calendar. This feature is currently only available in English, and using "Add to calendar" will not automatically add other invited people to the event.

The “Add to calendar” button will not appear in emails that have already had an event removed, such as restaurant reservations, train or concert tickets, and other similar cases.

The new feature is already rolling out to Gmail web users with Business and Enterprise plans, as well as Gemini Education and Education Premium users, and Google One AI Premium subscribers. The “Add to calendar” button is expected to be fully rolled out by mid-April.
