The browser game GeoGuessr, which has been around for 13 years, is coming to Steam. The game will be available on Valve's digital store in early access in April, The Verge reports.

GeoGuessr first appeared in 2013. The game places the player in a random location on Google Street View and has to accurately determine their location. Since then, the game has attracted many professional players.

With the Steam release, the developers want to focus on competitive modes and leaderboards to develop the esports aspect of the game. The game will be in Early Access for at least 6 months while the developers add new game modes, maps, and competitive features.

At launch, the game will support ranked duels and unranked team games. In addition, cross-platform play with users of the browser version will be available.

The exact release date has not yet been announced, as has its price. Initially, the browser version of the game was free, but now it allows only three guesses per day, and then requires a paid subscription, starting at $2.49 per month.
