Gemini, Google’s artificial intelligence chatbot, reached 350 million monthly active users worldwide as of March, a figure revealed in an antitrust lawsuit against the company, The Information reports.
The use of Google’s AI products has grown rapidly over the past year. While Gemini’s daily audience was just 9 million in October 2024, last month the company recorded 35 million daily users.
But Gemini still lags behind the industry’s leading players. According to data presented in court, Google estimates that ChatGPT had about 600 million monthly active users in March. That’s comparable to Meta AI’s audience, which Mark Zuckerberg said reached 500 million monthly active users as of September.
While companies may measure user activity differently, these numbers suggest Gemini is gaining traction. In the past year, Google has integrated its AI into millions of devices and services, from Samsung smartphones to Google Workspace and the Chrome browser.
