Garmin has introduced the Index Sleep Monitor, a new wrist-worn sleep tracker that can be worn over the shoulder. It will last a week on a single charge and is available in sizes S/M and L/XL for $169.
Every morning, Index Sleep Monitor will show users a sleep score on a scale of 0 to 100, taking into account duration, stress, stages, etc. As for the latter, the tracker will provide more detailed details about light, deep, and REM sleep.
Additionally, the bracelet will allow you to view your HRV (heart rate variability) values from the previous night and its status: balanced, unbalanced, low or poor. After a few nights of wearing, the bracelet will set a personal level to help you better understand the recovery process and overall well-being.
Also at night, the new Garmin bracelet will track blood oxygen saturation, variation, frequency and changes in breathing, changes in skin temperature, which can be associated with potential illness, and stress levels, among other things.
The Index Sleep Monitor will offer Body Battery energy monitors to help you understand whether your body is recharged or needs more rest. The bracelet also has a female health tracking feature that will use skin temperature data to give women more insight into their menstrual cycle, including improved period prediction and past ovulation estimates.
