Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge will be thinner than S25 Edge and have a larger battery — insider
The Galaxy S25 Edge, introduced in May 2025, became the thinnest smartphone in Samsung's history. However, the South Korean company does not plan to stop there, and according to insider Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Edge will break this record.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is just 5.8mm thick, which is 1.4mm thinner than the standard Galaxy S25. The next Edge smartphone is expected to be even thinner, although exact numbers are currently unknown. At the same time, insiders report that the Galaxy S26 Edge will receive a larger battery, despite an even more compact body.
IceUniverse claims that Samsung will use a new battery material technology for the next version of the Edge, but no further details are available. The Galaxy S25 Edge has a 3,900 mAh battery, which provides less battery life than other S25 models, so the expected update should significantly improve things.
In addition to the reduced battery capacity, the small thickness also negatively affects the strength of the screen — the protective glass breaks easily. Although the Galaxy S25 Edge successfully passed the durability test from the famous YouTuber JerryRigEverything, it is unknown whether an even thinner smartphone can cope with this.
At the moment, the slim model is not very popular among buyers. According to Korean media reports, the new product did not meet Samsung's expectations.
