In May 2025, the thin Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone appeared on the market, but the uniqueness of the design did not help sales of the new product. As The Elec reports, they did not meet the expectations of the South Korean company.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is only 5.8 millimeters thick, which is the smartphone's main feature. However, this feature affects battery life and, to some extent, screen durability, although it successfully passed other tests.
According to the publication, new Samsung smartphones usually sell well in the first three months of release, but this is not the case with the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge. The biggest problem is that Samsung wants to replace the Plus model of its flagship smartphones with the Edge, since the Plus is the least successful version of all.
Meanwhile, as The Elec writes, Samsung plans to increase production of its foldable Fold and Flip smartphones aimed at the US. This is due to President Donald Trump's tariffs.
Samsung announced during a recent meeting that it will produce 600,000 Galaxy Fold 7 foldable smartphones for the US market in June. This is 400,000 more than it produced in May.
