Fairphone has unveiled the sixth generation of its smartphone. The Fairphone 6 is the brand's smallest device, featuring a removable battery and the ability to connect various accessories. It is now available for purchase for €599.

It's worth starting with the modular design. The 4415 mAh battery is easily replaceable - just unscrew 7 screws. According to Fairphone, it can withstand 12 hours of web browsing and almost 54 hours of mixed use. Thanks to 30W charging, the smartphone charges to 50% in 25 minutes.

Accessories that can be attached to the back or secured with screws include a protective case, card holder, phone strap, and grip ring. The modular design also simplifies repairs by providing easy access to 12 smartphone components, including the display.

As for the specifications, the Fairphone 6 has a 6.31-inch Full HD LTPO P-OLED display with a resolution of 1116 x 2484 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a typical brightness of 800 nits, a peak brightness of 1400 nits and a protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. On the front is a 32 MP selfie camera with a Samsung KD1 sensor, x0.75 and x1 zoom.

The Fairphone 6's main camera is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 700C sensor. There's also a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with macro mode. All three cameras, including the front-facing one, support optical and electronic image stabilization.

The Fairphone 6 is equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and supports memory cards up to 2 TB.

The device also has a dedicated toggle for Fairphone Moments, which lets you quickly switch “from a full-fledged smartphone to a minimalist mode.” The company hasn’t explained exactly what this feature does, but it’s likely a mode that reduces distractions so you can better focus on specific tasks.
