Epic Games has filed a new lawsuit in a US federal court seeking to compel Apple to approve its application to return Fortnite to the US App Store. Epic claims that Apple is violating an April court order prohibiting it from rejecting apps for having external payment links, The Verge reports.
Epic provides a letter from Apple stating that the company will not consider the Fortnite application until the appeals court decides on a partial stay of the instruction. Epic believes that this delay is retaliation for the long-running legal dispute.
Apple has previously said it would reinstate Fortnite if the app complies with its policies, and Epic insists the current version fully complies. However, the game is still unavailable in the US, and the latest update has even disappeared from the European store. This, Epic says, is due to a block in the US region.
Epic is calling on the court to find that Apple is violating the ruling and order it to accept all apps that meet the requirements, including Fortnite.
