ElevenLabs has released a mobile application for voice generation
ElevenLabs, a voice AI company, has launched a standalone mobile app for iOS and Android that lets you create voice clips from text. Previously, you had to use the web version of the service to create such clips.
All you need to do is type or paste text, choose a voice for the voiceover, and get a ready-made audio clip. The free plan provides approximately 10 minutes of voice generation. There are different synthesis models that allow you to choose the right balance of quality. The application also provides access to the latest version of the v3 alpha model, which supports managing voice expressions using tags.
Jack McDermott, head of mobile development at ElevenLabs, told TechCrunch that many users were already using the mobile version of the site to generate voice clips that they then used in videos for social media, such as CapCut or Instagram. Seeing this demand, the company created a separate mobile app to provide a faster and more convenient way to work.
"Over the past year, we’ve seen an explosion of creativity from our community — content creators, marketers, educators, voice artists, and professionals using ElevenLabs to bring projects to life. Many have accessed ElevenLabs from mobile web browsers and asked for a faster, intuitive, more powerful experience built natively for mobile," explained McDermott.
The new solution allows ElevenLabs to compete with other similar voice generation and cloning services, such as Speechify or Captions.
By the way, this is the second application for users from ElevenLabs - previously the company introduced the Reader application for listening to text files on the go.
ElevenLabs plans to continue developing the app and expanding its capabilities. Future updates include speech-to-text recognition, a conversational AI assistant, and more.
Recall that in February, ElevenLabs launched Scribe, a voice-to-text model. It supports over 99 languages. By the way, it was ElevenLabs' AI service that translated Zelensky's interview with Lex Friedman.
