Harley-Davidson introduces LiveWire electric motorcycles for police
American manufacturer LiveWire , a subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, has introduced a new line of electric motorcycles designed specifically for police and security services. It includes the S2 Del Mar and Alpinista models, adapted for patrol needs.
The new models have special features for law enforcement officers: improved ABS, traction control, 120 dB siren, additional lighting, panniers, windshield, hand protection, and enhanced safety features.
LiveWire offers a program that allows police departments to customize their own equipment to meet their mission. They range in price from $15,999 to $16,249 , with a 5-year, unlimited-mileage battery warranty, as well as an additional 2-year warranty on the motorcycle itself.
The S2 Del Mar weighs 209 kg, has a range of up to 182 km, and charges from 20% to 80% in 78 minutes. The Alpinista model is slightly lighter at 197 kg and offers up to 193 km of city range.
It is worth noting that Harley-Davidson's cooperation with the police has been going on for over 100 years - since 1908, when the Detroit police began using the brand's motorcycles. Today, approximately 3,400 departments in the United States have Harley-Davidsons in their fleets.
Currently, the new LiveWire models are focused on North America, but may reach the global market in the future.
