Eddie Jordan, the legendary Irish businessman, TV presenter, and founder of the Jordan Grand Prix team that competed in the Formula 1 championship from 1991 to 2005, has died of cancer at the age of 76.
Eddie Jordan was a member of Formula 1's rock and roll generation and was much loved and respected in the paddock even after he sold the Jordan Grand Prix team.
Damon Hill, Nigel Mansell, Michael Schumacher, Jean Alesi, Rubens Barrichello, Giancarlo Fisichella, Eddie Irvine, Ralf Schumacher, Jarno Trulli, Martin Brundle and other famous Formula 1 drivers competed for the Jordan Grand Prix team over the years.
Eddie Jordan sold Jordan Grand Prix in 2005. The team competed for one season as Midland F1 Racing, then Spyker F1, then for ten years as Force India Formula One Team/Sahara Force India Formula One Team, then Racing Point F1 Team. The former Jordan Grand Prix is now known as the Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team.
