AI developer platform Hugging Face has unveiled two new humanoid robots: HopeJR and Reachy Mini. Both projects are open-source and developed as part of the company’s commitment to making robotics accessible to a wide range of developers and engineers, TechCrunch reports.
HopeJR is a full-size robot capable of moving with 66 degrees of freedom: it can walk, move its arms and head. As for Reachy Mini, it is a more compact, desktop robot that can turn its head, listen, speak and help in testing AI applications.
Both robots are open source, allowing anyone to build, modify, and understand them on their own. The estimated price of the HopeJR is $3,000, and the Reachy Mini is $300.
The development of the robots was made possible by the acquisition of the startup Pollen Robotics in April 2025. Pollen provided Hugging Face with the necessary knowledge and experience to implement these projects.
By the way, Hugging Face has been actively developing the robotics direction since 2024, when it launched the LeRobot platform, which includes open artificial intelligence models, datasets and tools for creating robotic systems. In 2025, the company has already updated its 3D-printed and programmable manipulator SO-101, created together with The Robot Studio. It has also expanded the training data on the LeRobot platform through cooperation with the startup Yaak, which specializes in autonomous transportation systems.
The company plans to begin shipping the first HopeJR and Reachy Mini robots by the end of 2025. The new products can already be pre-ordered.
