Robot vacuum cleaner manufacturer Dreame will release an electric supercar
Dreame Technology, a Chinese home appliance manufacturer whose main products are cordless vacuum cleaners, is entering the automotive market. The company is preparing an all-electric supercar that will compete with the Bugatti Veyron, reports CneEVPost.
The company's first electric car is scheduled for 2027, and the electric motor will be Dreame's own design. The company says it has been planning to enter the automotive market since 2013 and has since assembled a team of 1,000 people working on the project.
Dreame says its first car will create an intelligent ecosystem that is different from traditional luxury cars, and will provide seamless integration with users' smart homes and mobile devices.
The company now recognizes that China's auto industry has entered a phase of fierce competition. Dreame says it will use the right products, strategy and pace to bring Chinese-made products to the global high-end markets.
This isn't the first time a Chinese tech giant has launched its own car. Xiaomi, which gained global fame with its smartphones, unveiled its first electric car, the SU7 sedan, in December 2023. Earlier this year, the company unveiled its second car, the YU7 electric crossover.
