The Information recently reported that Meta is working on an Instagram app for iPad, and this has now been confirmed by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
According to Gurman, Meta employees are "actively testing" Instagram for iPad, and if there are no delays, the application will be released by the end of 2025.
Meta has offered a Facebook app for the iPad since 2011, but has largely avoided creating other apps for the device. But that seems to be changing. The company recently released a WhatsApp app for Apple tablets, which it had been testing since 2023.
By the way, Meta also has a relatively new social network, Threads, which competes with Elon Musk's X, but it is not yet known whether the company plans to release an application for the iPad.
As a reminder, the Instagram app recently caused increased battery consumption on Android. Google confirmed the problem and recommended that everyone update the app to the latest version.
