DJI Mini 5 Pro introduced with 1-inch sensor and improved features

- 17 September, 05:15 PM

DJI has introduced the Mini 5 Pro drone , the first in the series with a 1-inch camera sensor, which provides better shooting in low light. The drone has received an updated obstacle detection system, improved object tracking, camera stabilization and other features, while the weight remains less than 250 grams.

One of the main innovations is LiDAR. The sensors help avoid obstacles at night and ensure return home even without GPS. The drone is equipped with six sensors for full obstacle detection and stable flight in narrow spaces. The gimbal rotates up to 225°, allowing you to shoot vertical videos, and ActiveTrack 360 has been improved for safe tracking of objects while moving.

The Mini 5 Pro camera has a 1-inch sensor with a resolution of 50 MP, similar to the DJI Air 3S, which provides high detail and a wider dynamic range. Video can be shot in 4K at 120 fps, and the 2x digital zoom works without noticeable loss of quality. An improved portrait mode has also been added with optimization of brightness, contrast and skin tone.

The drone has a battery life of 36 minutes, or 52 minutes with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus. Charging three batteries takes only 115 minutes. The Mini 5 Pro comes with the RC-N3 or RC-2 controller with a built-in screen.

The new product is already available for purchase in Europe. The asking price is from €799. The official launch in the US is expected later.

Recall that DJI also recently released the Mavic 4 Pro with a 100-megapixel camera with a large 4/3 type CMOS sensor (17.4 × 13 mm), variable aperture from f2.0 to f11, and improved gimbal.
