Music platform Deezer says 20,000 songs created by artificial intelligence are uploaded to its service every day
Spotify alternative music streaming service Deezer has revealed (via Engadget) that more than 18% of the music uploaded to its platform each day is created by artificial intelligence. That's about 20,000 tracks every day.
Deezer allows independent artists to upload their own music without having to enter into licensing agreements with major record labels, opening the door to AI-generated content.
In January 2025, Deezer launched a tool to detect and label music created by artificial intelligence. At that time, the share of such tracks was only 10%. However, now the amount of such music has increased significantly, and because of this, music labels and artists are fighting against such content due to possible copyright infringement.
Deezer isn't the only one facing this problem. Spotify is also dealing with a large number of AI-generated tracks that try to bypass popular playlists. Despite this, Spotify has no objection to hosting such music as long as it is created legally.
