DDoD announced – Ukrainian cooperative top-down shooter in the spirit of STALKER

- 15 August, 01:21 PM

The Ukrainian game DDoD from The Future Entertainment Company studio was announced as part of the Ukrainian Games Festival 2025. The project already has a Steam page and the first gameplay trailer.

DDoD is a tactical roguelite shooter for 1-4 players with a camera in 3/4 of the events taking place in an anomalous zone. A kind of hybrid of The Ascent, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and the book/movie Annihilation.

"You arrive at the edge of the Purple Lands - a sealed-off industrial region struck by a sentient, mind-like substance known as the Fog. Exposure twists DNA in unpredictable ways. The cautious and the careful sometimes gain abilities no human was meant to have… but everything has a price.Your journey leads to the very heart of the industrial wasteland. Across swamps, forests, and dead towns - to the source." - this is the description of the game offered by the authors on Steam.

Judging by the screenshots, the atmosphere and surroundings are really STALKER with a camera from above and purple fog. It seems like there's even a real Sidorovich here. And there are also huge snails that have received tank armor.

The authors of DDoD promise a huge open map with points of interest, dynamic changes in the state of the Zone, realistic weapons and reliable ballistics, roguelike progression between races, the ability to play both alone and in co-op, colorful NPCs, and full Ukrainian voice acting. It sounds very interesting.

Although DDoD is the first project of The Future Entertainment Company, it seems that the studio has experienced developers with experience working on famous Ukrainian games under its wing.

By the way, we already had one STALKER with a camera on top – Heat Guardian by Denis Rudoy, who later worked on STALKER 2 and is now working on the BRUTALIST project.

There is no release date for DDoD yet, but it is known that the game will be released on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The project looks really interesting, so support it by adding it to your Wishlist.
