Polish studio Bloober Team has confirmed that Cronos: The New Dawn will be released in the fall of 2025. A new gameplay trailer was shown at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025.
Cronos: The New Dawn is a third-person survival horror game set in a retro-futuristic Poland. The world has been devastated by a catastrophe known as "The Change" that has wiped out most of humanity. The player, as the Traveler, travels back in time to change the course of events and stop the consequences of the apocalypse.
The trailer, subtitled Survive the Nest, showcases the "fusion" system of enemies: monsters called "orphans" can absorb the bodies of the fallen, gaining new abilities and transforming into stronger opponents. To avoid this, the player must burn the bodies of enemies immediately after victory. The limited fuel supply for the flamethrower creates additional tension.
The trailer also features a mysterious character named "The Predecessor," who has presumably been through this same journey before. The story spans multiple time periods and explores the theme of how the past influences the future.
The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and will have Ukrainian text localization. Minimum system requirements include an Intel Core i5-8600K processor, a GeForce GTX 1080 or Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card, and 16 GB of RAM.
Recall that at the Xbox Games Showcase, they also showed a trailer for the new part of A Plague Tale — Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. They also demonstrated the gameplay of the new game from the creators of The Witcher 3 — The Blood of Dawnwalker for the first time and announced the release date and price of The Outer Worlds 2. In addition, Microsoft and ASUS introduced ROG Xbox Ally. This is a new portable game console based on Windows 11.
