Microsoft adds Press to talk feature to Copilot for Windows
Windows Insiders are starting to receive an update that adds a new feature to the Copilot app called "Press to talk." The feature will allow you to communicate with a chatbot using a quick keyboard shortcut.
To access the chatbot's voice mode, you need to hold down the Alt and Spacebar buttons for two seconds. To end the conversation, you will need to press the Esc key.
The conversation will also end automatically if you don't speak to Copilot for a few seconds. Once the conversation is over, the microphone will disappear from the screen.
This update to Copilot (version 1.25024.100.0 and above) is starting to roll out to all Insider channels via the Microsoft Store. The new feature will be rolled out gradually, so not all Insiders will receive the update at once.
We also recall that Microsoft recently introduced an updated Copilot application for Windows 11, which will now work natively. In addition, the company is preparing its own large language model MAI and testing it together with other models in a chatbot.
