Coca-Cola will launch the first hydrogen vending machines for drinks at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, which will take place on April 13, 2025, writes SoraNews24.
The machines were developed by Fuji Electric. Instead of being connected to the mains, the machines will use replaceable hydrogen cartridges that provide a chemical reaction to generate electricity.
Coca-Cola will install 58 vending machines at the expo, and each one will have an information display on the side that will tell visitors about how hydrogen energy works.
The new vending machines are slightly larger due to an additional generator module on the side. It is in this module that hydrogen cartridges are installed, where a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen occurs, generating energy that is stored in the battery.
