Google has added the ability to switch between personal and work profiles to the Chrome browser on iOS. The feature only works within the corporate Chrome Enterprise package and is not available to regular users. This is reported by The Verge.
Switching profiles is done through the account menu. Each profile has separate data — tabs, browsing history, saved passwords, etc. This allows you to separate personal and work activity in the browser. The company's IT department can set security policies, view reports, and restrict access to sites within the work profile.
The feature is aimed at companies that want to provide managed and secure employee access to corporate resources on mobile devices.
On Android, support for profile separation is implemented at the system level — through a separate workspace that spans all Google apps, including Chrome. Therefore, switching between profiles directly in the browser on Android is not available.
As before, the mobile version of Chrome does not allow you to switch between regular (non-corporate) accounts, although this option is available in the desktop version of the browser.
