ChatGPT receives over 2.5 billion requests daily — OpenAI

- 22 July, 09:49 AM

OpenAI reported that ChatGPT users send more than 2.5 billion requests daily around the world. Of these, more than 330 million are in the United States. In total, the platform's weekly audience exceeds 500 million active users. This is reported by Axios.

The data comes ahead of a speech by CEO Sam Altman at the Federal Reserve Conference in Washington, D.C. During the event, he will present a new economic analysis prepared by OpenAI's chief economist and make a case for the "democratization" of artificial intelligence — that is, for the equal distribution of economic benefits among the population.

Altman will offer a "third way" between those who support AI and those who fear its consequences. OpenAI aims not only to avoid the concentration of power over AI development in the hands of large companies, but also to ensure access to the technology for the general public.

US President Donald Trump will also speak on the topic of artificial intelligence at the Winning the AI Race summit, and the White House will present its own 20-page action plan for the development of AI, which provides for a liberal and growth-oriented approach.

According to OpenAI, the main question is not whether AI will bring economic growth, but who will benefit from it. The company insists that the key to equitable distribution is to make AI tools accessible to as many people as possible.

By the way, OpenAI continues to develop ChatGPT and recently the company launched ChatGPT Agent, an AI agent that can control a computer instead of a user.
