Chinese automaker BYD has filed documents with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China regarding a new modification of the Yangwang U9 electric supercar - the Track Edition version. NotebookCheck reports this, citing Cnevpost.

According to the specifications, each of the four wheels will be equipped with a separate electric motor with a capacity of 744.57 hp, providing a total power of 2,977 hp. This is more than double the performance of the base U9 model, which has 1,287 hp.

The updated supercar will receive aerodynamic body improvements, including a carbon roof, rear wing and diffuser with adjustable blades. A carbon front splitter and an electric rear wing are available as options. The car will have 20-inch wheels, a length of 4.97 m, a width of 2.03 m, a height of 1.31 m and a wheelbase of 2.90 m. The curb weight of the car will be 2,480 kg, and the maximum speed will be 350 km/h. In addition, the Track Edition version will receive reinforced brakes for safe braking under extreme loads.

BYD is likely to use a new high-speed electric motor technology that rotates at speeds above 30,000 rpm. Such motors are already used in the Han L EV and Tang L EV models, introduced in the second quarter of 2025.

The standard Yangwang U9 model currently costs around $233,840 in China. The Track Edition version is likely to fetch a significantly higher price.
