BOOX, a company specializing in e-books and Android devices with E Ink screens, has introduced a new monitor, the BOOX Mira Pro. It has the same features as the black and white model from 2023, but is equipped with a new color display.
Despite the advantages of E Ink displays over LCD and OLED panels, they also have their downside - a high price. For example, the Mira Pro Color, although it only has a 25.3-inch display, costs $1,899. In the US, its price will be even higher due to supplies from China.
The BOOX Mira Pro Color features an E Ink Kaleido 3 panel with a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels, supporting 4096 colors. Since the refresh rate of such displays is limited, BOOX offers four customizable display modes that provide a balance between image quality and performance.
The monitor has a front-facing backlight similar to that used in e-books, which allows you to adjust the color temperature. At the same time, the BOOX Mira Pro Color is equipped with a pair of speakers and five ports, including HDMI, mini HDMI, USB-C and DisplayPort.
