On April 14, the aerospace company Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos, will make history by sending the first all-female crew into suborbital space, Space reports.

The team includes singer Katy Perry, TV host Gayle King, scientist Amanda Nguyen, engineer Aisha Bowie, producer Kerianne Flynn and Lauren Sanchez, a partner of Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos. The flight will take place aboard a New Shepard rocket from the company's site in West Texas.

The mission, called NS-31, will be the 31st launch of New Shepard and the 11th crewed flight. The crew will climb above the Kármán line, which is considered the international boundary of space, to an altitude of more than 100 km. The flight will last about 10-12 minutes, during which the participants will be able to experience weightlessness and enjoy the view of the Earth from space.

This launch is the first all-female spaceflight since Valentina Tereshkova's flight in 1963, when she went on a three-day journey into Earth orbit.

Ticket prices are not disclosed, but it is known that Blue Origin's main competitor in space tourism, Virgin Galactic, estimates one seat for such a flight at $650,000.

The live broadcast of the New Shepard launch will begin tomorrow, April 14 at 3:00 p.m. Kyiv time. The link to it is below.
