Bloomberg insider and journalist Mark Gurman told the weekly Power On newsletter that Apple is already preparing to launch a new AirTag. The device should debut in mid-2025.
"The new AirTag is nearly ready, having been prepared for launch over the past several months, but I’d hardly consider that notable and it doesn’t make much sense to debut at WWDC," Gurman wrote in the Q&A section.
As for the innovations, it is known that the device will receive a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, which will provide up to 3 times the tracking range compared to the current AirTag. In addition, AirTag 2 will receive integration with Vision Pro and a built-in speaker, which will be more difficult to remove. The design of the gadget is unlikely to change.
Recall, the first AirTag was introduced in April 2021. In the USA, the price of one AirTag is $29. In Ukraine, the device costs 1699 UAH.
