In May 2025, more than a hundred websites were blocked in Ukraine. Among them were online pharmacies and resources with fake certificates. The Uablocklist team reported this.
Casino blocking remains an important area. Although there were far fewer such blockings in May than in March (when 32,000 domains were blocked), 58 such sites were still blocked last month.
Access to pro-Russian resources was also restricted. Interestingly, among the 17 blocked sites were also those with Western domains — for example, the Polish Do Pzeczy and W Polityce, as well as the Swiss uncut-news.ch and Transistor News. In addition, several regional sites, such as tavria.tv and hersonka.ru, were blocked, designed for an audience in the occupied and frontline territories.
Another surprise in May was the large number of blocked online pharmacies — at least 16. Presumably, the reason for such attention was the sale of prescription drugs without proper control. In addition, 7 sites were blocked that sold alcohol and tobacco products in violation of excise or age laws.
In May, sites offering fake documents for traveling abroad were also blocked, as well as Facebook accounts and advertising rooms. Advertising, in particular, is often used in fraudulent schemes or to bypass moderation on social networks.
Unexpectedly, the land registry website kadastr was also blocked. There is no official explanation yet, but analysts suggest that the reason is a potential cybersecurity threat or the risk of personal data leakage. In addition, access to the Tipok website, an online vape store, has been blocked.
