Samsung has officially released the One UI 8.0 beta update for the Galaxy S24 series of flagship smartphones and the Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6 foldables.
The firmware is based on Android 16 and is currently available for Galaxy S24 users in South Korea and the UK. For the foldable models Fold 6 and Flip 6, the update has only been released in South Korea so far. It is expected that the One UI 8.0 beta will be available in other countries in the near future, including the US, India, and the UK (for Fold 6 and Flip 6).
The update is around 3.2GB for the S24 series and 3.6GB for the foldable models, which is typical for large-scale changes to the operating system. Key innovations include a refreshed user interface, improved integration of Samsung DeX and Secure Folder, which now operate more stably thanks to deeper adaptation to Android 16 and Android Private Space.
In addition, One UI 8.0 offers improved tools for daily use: updated Quick Share and Weather features, as well as improved management of alarms, calendar and reminders.
The Galaxy Flip 6 has several exclusive innovations, including a 90:10 split-screen mode for more efficient multitasking and an updated version of the Samsung Internet browser.
To join the beta program, owners of the above devices can use the banner in the Samsung Members app. After registering, the update is installed through the standard settings menu. Samsung warns that the test version may contain bugs and stability issues typical of the beta testing phase.
