Apollo Go, a robo-taxi service owned by Chinese technology company Baidu, plans to expand its business to Europe in 2025, CNBC reports.

According to anonymous sources, Apollo Go intends to register a company in Switzerland and start operations in that country, as well as in Turkey, within the next few months. Baidu has so far refrained from commenting on the matter.

Apollo Go launched its fully autonomous taxi service in China in 2019. It is currently available in Beijing and several other Chinese cities. In 2024, the company introduced Apollo ADFM, which Baidu says is the world's first Level 4 autonomous driving system.

In March 2025, the company also announced plans to expand its service to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and last week Baidu said Apollo Go was undergoing testing in Hong Kong.

One of Apollo Go's competitors, Pony.AI, announced earlier this month a strategic partnership with Uber to launch its cars in the US on the company's platform. Pony.AI also plans to expand its presence in the Middle East later this year.

Tesla, which is also preparing to enter the autonomous taxi market, previously said it would launch its robo-taxi service in June 2025.
