ASUS introduces 2K monitor with refresh rate up to 720 Hz

- 20 August, 12:42 PM

ASUS at Gamescom 2025 introduced a new 26.5-inch ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W monitor, which uses an OLED panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 540 Hz, or 1920 x 1080 at a frequency of 720 Hz. This is reported by The Verge.

ASUS uses a recently introduced LG Display panel. While it lags behind some Chinese manufacturers in terms of refresh rate, such as NKC, which released a 750Hz monitor, the monitor's other features beat its Chinese competitors.

What's more, the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W uses a tandem OLED panel, which boosts HDR brightness and may even extend lifespan. It also has a glossy finish that can make its colors even brighter and blacks even darker than OLED technology can already afford.

The monitor's wide range of connectivity options includes DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 with a new level of bandwidth of 80 Gbps.

It is currently unknown how much the new product will cost and when it will appear on the market, but considering that even Chinese monitors cost $1,100, the price of the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W will not be small.
