Assassin's Creed Shadows was played by over a million players on release day
Assassin's Creed Shadows, one of the most important projects that will directly affect the future of Ubisoft, was released on March 20. Judging by the initial results, the company has reason to be optimistic: on launch day, the game was played by over a million players.
Shadows, in particular, was the first game to be available on Steam on its release day, where it also performed well. On March 20, the game's peak online traffic was 41,412, which already puts it in third place among all games in the franchise, behind only Assassin's Creed Origins (41,551) and Odyssey (62,069). The game received a 9 out of 10 in a review by Mezha.
In addition, Assassin's Creed Shadows has received positive reviews from both reviewers and players. On Metacritic and OpenCritic, Ubisoft's new project has an average score of 81 from critics. At the same time, on Steam, the game has received very positive reviews based on almost four thousand reviews.
It's worth noting that the exact number of copies sold is currently unknown, as the total number of players includes Ubisoft+ subscribers for $17.99 per month. In any case, this is a significant achievement for Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed Shadows. More details on the game's sales will be announced later.
