Apple's biggest launch this year will be the iPhone 17 Air, which is just 5.5mm thick. This model will replace the current Plus version and will be priced between $900-1000. The iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch screen and will slot in between the Pro and Max in size. Meanwhile, Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple is already working on a future Air model with a larger screen.

After the iPhone 17 Air is released this fall, Kuo says Apple will release an updated iPhone 18 Air model in fall 2026, as part of the device's regular annual refresh. After that, the company plans to release an iPhone 19 Air with a larger screen.

Details on how much larger the screen would be were not disclosed. However, we may already know thanks to early reports from Bloomberg. In March, Mark Gurman reported that Apple was initially prototyping a slim iPhone with a 6.9-inch screen, matching the size of the Pro Max screen. However, the company scrapped the idea during development due to concerns that the device would be too fragile and prone to bending.

However, perhaps the ambition for a thin device with a 6.9-inch screen remains, and Apple is now working to introduce this device in the future.

By the way, in addition to the new Air model, Apple expects radical changes in the design of the Pro versions in 2026 and 2027. The company will also introduce its first foldable iPhones, starting in late 2026.
