The launch of the Apple Vision Pro was preceded by many predictions of the success of the mixed reality headset from the Cupertino company. However, in practice, the first impressions of journalists who managed to test the device before the start of sales indicated a rather large and heavy case. Of course, the company is working on solving this problem.
9to5Mac has picked up on a post by X insider Kosutami. He says that the device will be part of the Vision lineup and adds a few interesting details.
To reduce weight in the middle of the case, titanium will be used. In the case of the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro, replacing steel with titanium really helped to make smartphones lighter without losing strength. However, in this case, the headset body will still remain aluminum. It is also noted that the device will be thin.
There is also mention of a black color like the one that the iPhone 5 had, with a slight dark blue tint. For example, since 2022 the MacBook Air has a Midnight color option. It may not be so similar to the old iPhone version, but a certain parallel can still be drawn.
Actually, finally, the insider hints that it will not be a Pro model, but will have the Air index - Apple Vision Air. Which, again, sounds logical, considering the smaller and lighter case, as well as the color that is already used for the MacBook Air.
This is also accompanied by images of the small connectors of the external battery.
As a reminder, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also recently mentioned that Apple is working on two new versions of the Apple Vision Pro, one of which is supposed to be lighter and cheaper, and the second to connect to a Mac. So it's quite possible that the first one will become the aforementioned Apple Vision Air.
