Apple Vision Air mixed reality headset could arrive within a year

Despite the small successes of the Apple Vision Pro, the Cupertino company is not putting off work on new models of mixed reality headsets. And according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, there may be more of them than it seemed. Earlier, insiders have already mentioned the development of two new models at once, including the Apple Vision Air.

A lighter and cheaper version, according to Gurman, could appear within a year:

I reported earlier this month that Apple is full steam ahead on two new successors to the Vision Pro: a lighter version at a cheaper price point and a Mac-tethered model aimed at applications that need maximum responsiveness. All signs point to the lighter model arriving between the end of this year and the first half of 2026.

Gurman also added that it is currently unclear whether the lighter model will be a replacement for the Apple Vision Pro, or one of the options among the Vision devices.

Recall that according to insiders, the Apple Vision Air will also have an aluminum body, but it will be smaller and lighter (by using titanium in the internal construction). But there are no more technical details yet (except for the mention of a color like Midnight in the MacBook Air).

However, if the device is significantly cheaper, you can expect certain concessions in functionality, even compared to the first version of the Apple Vision Pro.
