Apple releases haptic trailer for Formula 1 movie that only works on iPhone
The highly anticipated Formula 1 film will be released in theaters on June 26, 2025. To celebrate the premiere, Apple has released a unique haptic trailer, available only for iPhone. Thanks to Taptic Engine technology, users can feel the events of the film right in the palm of their hands.
Apple says viewers will feel the power of the engines, the vibration of the curbs, and the tension of each gear shift thanks to tactile vibrations. The trailer is now available to watch in the Apple TV app, but requires iOS 18.4 or later. There is also a standard version of the trailer without haptics.
As a reminder, the film stars Brad Pitt and is directed by Joseph Kosinski, who also directed the hit Top Gun: Maverick and the cult classic Tron: Legacy. The soundtrack for the film was written by Hans Zimmer.
The company has high hopes for the film, with a full theatrical release and IMAX screenings. Apple also gave the film special attention at WWDC and hosted a pre-release screening at the Steve Jobs Theater.
