Apple improves Liquid Glass interface in second beta of iOS 26
Apple has released the second beta of iOS 26, which fixes several major flaws in the Liquid Glass interface, a new design system inspired by the properties of glass, such as transparency and light refraction. This interface was announced at WWDC 2025 and received mixed reviews from early testers, including readability issues. This is reported by TechCrunch.
The main complaint from testers was the Control Center, which, due to its transparency, merged with the icons and widgets on the home screen, making interaction difficult.
In the second beta, Apple took this criticism into account and increased the background blur to better separate interface elements.
The visibility of notifications has also been improved, although they still remain low-contrast on a bright background and require further refinement.
Other new features include an Accessibility section on App Store app pages, iCloud sync support for the Diary app on iPad, order tracking in Wallet, a new Apple Music Radio widget, and other improvements.
The final version of iOS 26 is expected to be available in the fall. Apple seems to be actively responding to user feedback.
