Apple is testing a chatbot for the new Siri based on LLM — the assistant is expected to launch in 2026

Apple has created a ChatGPT-style chatbot for internal Siri testing, Bloomberg reports.

A chatbot called Veritas is being used to test new assistant features, including better contextual search, deeper integration with personal data, and the ability to perform more complex actions between apps.

The app is similar to other chatbots. It supports multiple conversations, remembers previous conversations, and allows for longer sessions. The company notes that the chatbot is intended for employees only and will not be released to the public.

As a reminder, Apple has been working on a new Siri based on large language models for some time. Apple Intelligence was originally planned to be introduced with iOS 18, but the launch was postponed to 2026. The version with LLM is expected to appear in early 2026, probably in the iOS 26.4 update, and later Siri will receive a new design with more "human" features.

Apple is also in talks with OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic and may use third-party models for the assistant instead of its own solutions.
