Apple and Samsung lead the smartphone market in Europe
Apple and Samsung took the leading positions in the smartphone market in Europe in the first quarter of 2025. According to data from analytical company Counterpoint Research, both manufacturers had five devices in the list of most popular models.
The iPhone 16 Pro was the top seller, accounting for 6% of total smartphone sales in the region. It was followed by the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the standard iPhone 16, each with 5% of the market. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 were in fourth and fifth place with a share of 3%.
The next three places are also occupied by Samsung models. The sixth, seventh and eighth places were taken by last year's models, such as the Galaxy S24, Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A16 5G, respectively.
Interestingly, the iPhone 16e, which only hit the market in February, also made it into the top ten most popular smartphones, coming in ninth place. At the same time, its initial sales are inferior to the iPhone SE (2020) and SE (2022) models due to their higher price.
Apple also continues to sell the iPhone 15, which closed the top ten most popular smartphones in Europe in the first quarter. Thus, once again Apple and Samsung continue to dominate the European smartphone market, leaving Chinese competitors behind.
