Apple is actively working on two new models of its Vision Pro headset, which should be an important step towards creating augmented reality glasses that are convenient for everyday use, according to Bloomberg's well-known Apple insider, Mark Gurman.
According to him, one of the models will be lighter and cheaper than the first-generation headset, while the other is designed to connect to a Mac. The latter will be able to provide ultra-low latency for transmitting content from a Mac display, which will open up new possibilities for using high-end enterprise applications.
With the release of the new headsets, Apple CEO Tim Cook is reportedly "obsessively" aiming to get ahead of competitors like Meta in creating an industry-leading product.
The new Vision Pro models are seen as intermediate steps towards Apple's ultimate goal of developing a practical augmented reality headset that can be worn like regular glasses.
