Apple has announced the expansion of the Tap to Pay feature to nine new European countries, including Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland.
This feature allows businesses to accept contactless payments without the need for additional hardware or payment terminals. All you need is an iPhone XS or later with the latest version of iOS.
Tap to Pay supports payments from debit and credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, as well as Apple Pay, Google Wallet and other digital wallets. All transactions are encrypted and processed using iPhone's Secure Element, ensuring the privacy of customer data. Apple has no access to purchase or customer information.
This innovation greatly simplifies the process of accepting payments for merchants in these countries, allowing them to use only an iPhone to process transactions.
