Apple has faced difficulties in implementing new artificial intelligence features in Siri, which led to their launch being postponed from iOS 19 to iOS 20.
As reported by the WccfTech portal, it was previously planned that the updated Siri with a more conversational style would be available in iOS 19.4 in 2026. However, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the company is behind schedule, and these features are now expected to appear no earlier than iOS 20 in 2027.
Apple was reportedly planning to unveil new Siri features at its WWDC developer conference in June, but that's now unlikely. Despite the delays, Siri could still get some updates this year, including improvements to handling complex queries. In addition, iOS 18.2 already integrates ChatGPT, allowing users to take advantage of the advanced capabilities of generative artificial intelligence.
Apple is also planning to release iOS 18.5 in May, which will include new features like contextual recognition and deeper app integration. However, general software development delays have affected the update release schedule.
