1-Bit Rainbow has introduced the pico-mac-nano – a miniature, functional replica of the original 1984 Apple Macintosh measuring just 62 millimeters tall.
This tiny computer uses a Raspberry Pi Pico, which is more than enough to emulate an original Macintosh. It even supports a USB keyboard and mouse. The developer has also shared the project on GitHub along with a list of parts needed for a DIY build.
The minicomputer has a 2-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 480x342 pixels and a specially designed printed circuit board. The pico-mac-nano also has a microSD memory card slot and one USB-C port.
1-Bit Rainbow offers the fully assembled pico-mac-nano for £56 ($76) or the Collector's Edition for £76 ($104). The Collector's Edition includes a replica of the original Picasso box, made from full-colour printed double-walled corrugated cardboard, and comes complete with white flexible thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) inserts and an accessory box containing a USB adapter and hex key.
